Guests mingling and filling in bingo cards at a social event to meet new friends over 45 at The Pint in Vancouver

Meet New Friends Over 45 in Vancouver

Want to meet new friends over 45 without the awkward small talk? On Saturday, November 14, Vancouver Social Events hosts New Friends & More 45+ at The Pint Public House in Downtown Vancouver, BC. It’s an afternoon of icebreaker games, cash prizes and real conversation for adults 45 and over. Singles are always welcome.

The event runs from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Tickets are $25 until October 30, then $30 for the final two weeks. Every ticket includes a $10 gift card for The Pint, handed to you at check-in. Use it on food or drinks.

How to Meet New Friends Over 45

If making friends feels harder than it used to, you’re not alone. Careers get busy, kids grow up and old friends move away. There are simply fewer natural places to meet people.

New Friends & More is all about making real friends. It’s for anyone 45 and over who wants to grow their social circle. The “& More” is for singles. If you’re single, it’s also a relaxed way to meet other singles without the pressure of a dating event.

Icebreaker Games and Cash Prizes

If you want to meet new friends over 45, the games make it easy. You won’t be a wallflower here. Every game gives you a reason to talk to someone within minutes of arriving.

  • Match Cards: find the person whose card matches yours. You both win a lottery ticket with a chance at $10,000. Then head to The Pint’s beer pong table to play for a free beer.
  • Can’t Say No: everyone gets a necklace. Say “no” and you lose all your necklaces to whoever caught you. The guest with the most necklaces wins a gift card.
  • Icebreaker Bingo: find people who match the squares on your card. Complete three lines to enter the draw for cash prizes at the end of the afternoon.

See what an afternoon looks like:

It’s a unique way to meet people. At many drop-in meetups you walk in on your own. Regulars often stick with the friends they already know. Here, every game sends you off to meet someone new, so it’s easy to mix with the whole room. The games run all afternoon, so you can join in whenever you arrive. Coming on your own? You’ll fit right in.

That’s what your ticket pays for. $10 comes straight back to you as a gift card for The Pint. On top of that, each of our recent events has given away more than $400 in cash prizes, plus a $50 gift card and scores of lottery tickets.

Getting to The Pint

The Pint is at 455 Abbott Street, close to Rogers Arena and BC Place. Stadium–Chinatown SkyTrain station is a short walk away.

Driving? Paid parking is available across from The Pint and at International Village, kitty-corner to The Pint.

Important: There are no paper or digital tickets to resell. Every guest is on our attendee list and checks in by name at the door. Tickets are only sold on this page. If someone offers you tickets on Facebook or anywhere else, it’s a scam.

Can’t make it? We don’t offer refunds but you have two options. Send a friend in your place and have them give your name at check-in. Or let us know before the event and we’ll put you in our next event for free. Just send us a quick reminder when the next event is announced.

Please note that photography and video happen at this event, and footage may be used in future promotional material. By attending, you acknowledge this. Staff will try to honor requests to avoid cameras, but full exclusion can’t be guaranteed in a busy group setting.

The Pint Vancouver is a friendly, laid-back sports pub in Downtown Vancouver, just steps from Rogers Arena and BC Place. It's part of The Pint Public House family, which started in Edmonton in 2009 and now has pubs in four Canadian cities. The Vancouver location opened on St. Patrick's Day 2012 and has been a go-to spot for game-day crowds ever since. Expect hearty pub food, 16 rotating beers on tap, and a popular wing night every Wednesday. Their motto, "Eat. Drink. Repeat.", sums it up: good food, cold drinks, and a welcoming crowd where everyone belongs. Whether you're catching a Canucks or BC Lions game, meeting new people at a social event, or just looking for a relaxed night out downtown, The Pint Vancouver is an easy place to feel at home.

I've been organizing events for over 20 years, and it's still what I love most — bringing people together, meeting new faces, and watching a room full of strangers turn into a room full of friends. Vancouver Social Events grew out of that same passion: giving Metro Vancouver a real, free way to connect through the things they love, whether that's golf, poker, singles mixers, or whatever comes next. If you've got a great event idea, I'd love to help you bring it to life.
