Vancouver Social Events (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website vancouversocialevents.com. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. When you submit an event, we collect event details including venue name, address, dates, and organizer contact information. We also collect standard web traffic data such as pages visited and browser type.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate the website, display events to visitors, send account-related emails such as registration confirmation and event submission notifications, and contact you about your event listings.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Organizer Mailing List Opt-In (Exception to Third-Party Sharing)

As stated above, we do not sell your personal information, and as a general rule we do not share your email address or personal details directly with event organizers or sponsors. There is one specific, opt-in-only exception to this: if you affirmatively check an opt-in box — at the time of booking an event, or on a specific organizer’s group page — agreeing to join that organizer’s own mailing list.

If you opt in this way, we share only the following information, and only with the specific organizer you opted in for: your name, your email address, and the date you opted in. We do not share this information with any other organizer, sponsor, or partner, and we do not share any other personal information beyond this.

Once this information has been shared with an organizer, it is subject to that organizer’s own privacy practices, not ours. We are not responsible for how a third-party organizer stores, uses, or protects information after it has been shared. We recommend contacting the organizer directly if you have questions about their own data practices.

We keep a permanent internal record of every opt-in, including the date it was given, for our own compliance records — this record is retained regardless of whether or when an organizer downloads it.

Checking an Organizer Opt-In box is always optional and unchecked by default. You may withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in that organizer’s emails. Withdrawing consent from one organizer’s list does not affect your other VSE account communications.

Event Listings

Events submitted through our platform are displayed publicly on the website. Organizer names and websites provided during submission may be shown on the event listing page.

Our website uses cookies to keep you logged in and to improve your browsing experience. By using this site you consent to our use of cookies.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the site: Brevo (email delivery), Google (sign-in and analytics), and Cloudflare (security and performance). Each of these services has its own privacy policy.
