The trip

Jan 12–19, 2027, direct flight YVR–Cancun, staying at Bahia Principe Escape Tequila in Akumal — a newly renovated, adults-only resort with exchange privileges at two neighbouring resorts and a golf course next door. One honest note: the resort is a short shuttle ride (or roughly a 20-minute walk) from the beach itself; everything else — pools, grounds, food, nightlife — is on-site.

What the week actually looks like

There’s no tour guide, no itinerary, no forced group activities. The only fixed plan is a meet-and-greet early in the week and a standing nightly catch-up by the pool to swap stories and figure out the next day. Beyond that, a WhatsApp group lets everyone coordinate informally — a cenote swim, golf, the lazy river, dinner plans — so you can build as much or as little structure into your own week as you want. It’s a tropical week designed for people who’d rather travel solo than not travel at all, surrounded by other people doing the same thing.

Is this a guided group tour? No — there’s no tour leader and no required itinerary. It’s a shared destination and a loose nightly meetup, not a packaged tour.

What if I’d rather do my own thing some days? Completely fine. The WhatsApp group and nightly catch-up are optional, not mandatory.

Why is there no solo supplement? We locked in a block rate that already includes single occupancy, so solo travelers pay the same per-person rate as everyone else instead of a surcharge.
